“Again and again we are reborn.
It is not enough simply to be born of the mother’s womb.
… Many births are necessary. Be reborn always and everywhere.
Again and again.”

Tatsumi Hijikata

Lovely butoh creatures all over the world

maybe you remember the worldwide butoh flashmob we did together in honor of Kazuo Ohno, our beloved master, who passed away in 2009 and is now dancing in another world. For us personally it was a great experience, feeling the connection to all of you and to join your dance wherever you are on this planet.
So – Let’s do it again! This time we want to dance for ankoku butoh founder and our all father Tatsumi Hijikata at his death day the 21st of January 2012.
He danced on his death bed his last dance for us, being an inspiration for us all with his intransigence, creativity and passion. He was a remarkable man, fearless to leave the conventional path to follow his visions. Let’s all join his last dance, to return to the world’s mind this dance genius as well as to show how alive butoh is still in our days, blooming eternally and spreading his seeds all over the world in opalescent colors.

There are no limitations how you can join the dance. As butoh is finding your individual dance, you can choose your way and place of dance as you like. To make it this time even more easier to participate there is the whole day time to dance. So you can decide when it’s good for you to start or you can also choose to dance for 24 hours without a break. It’s all up to you!

We will create a place where we can share pictures and videos of our experience and will let you know where you can upload the stuff.

We are looking forward to dance with you all again and – of course – with the spirit of Hijikata-san.
